JAMES Repper was the runaway winner of yesterday’s Penn Seven race.
The Chiltern Harriers athlete was more than 90 seconds ahead of the rest of the field as he crossed the finishing line in a time of 40m29s.
Richard Summers finished second in 42m2s, with Greg McGivern completing the top three in a time of 43m38s.
Another Chiltern Harrier, Debbie Wenman, was the first lady home in a time of 49m11s – after Will Lloyd, who recorded the same finishing time stepped aside and allowed her to finish ahead of him.
A total of 268 runners completed the race, with 130 clocking a time of under an hour. The 131st athlete across the line, Jason Berry of Burnham Joggers, did it in exactly one hour.
Proceeds raised from this year’s race – the 27th time it has been run – will be donated to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.
