IN just a few hours the fate of the controversial community stadium project should be decided.

The new top team heading up Wycombe District Council could effectively confine the scheme to history's scrap heap.

Or it may push it forward a step closer to reality.

Live coverage of the meeting is on this site from 7pm.

The Cabinet makes the major decisions at the council and is now headed by Leader Cllr Alex Collingwood.

He won the Conservative party leadership battle after the May 5 council elections.

Who is on the Cabinet making tonight's decision?

The nine members are:

- Cllr Dominic Barnes, Cabinet Member for HR, ICT and Customer Services

- Cllr David Carroll Executive Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing and External Partnerships

- Cllr Alex Collingwood Executive Leader of the Council

- Cllr Arif Hussain JP Executive Deputy Leader & Cabinet Member for Property

- Cllr Mrs Audrey Jones Cabinet Member for Environment

- Cllr James Malliff Cabinet Member for Big Society & Localism

- Cllr Hugh McCarthy Cabinet Member for Planning & Sustainability

- Cllr Mrs Jean Teesdale Cabinet Member for Democratic, Legal & Policy

- Cllr Roger Wilson Cabinet Member for Finance

- Cllr Ms Katrina Wood Cabinet Member for Community

What are the 4 options WDC will consider?

1. End the scheme.

WDC stops work on the Wycombe Air Park plans. This effectively ends the scheme, officers said.

It's unlikely any speculative planning application would be submitted by the clubs for this or alternative sites, given the land availability and funding certainty required.

2. Scrutiny committee reviews the business case.

The Improvement and Review Commission examines this with community involvement, and reports back to Cabinet in October.

3. Stadium moved a step closer to reality.

WDC agrees to move to full business case by 31 October 2011, with scrutiny commitee and community involvement.

Meanwhile it would authorise entering into a collaboration agreement based on officers' report.

4. Clubs stump up cash for alternative options.

WSDL asked to fund further investigations on split site options with the existing stadium being redeveloped on the existing site in line with scrutiny committee's proposals.

It would get NO council cash.
