Stadium D-Day: Live! Stadium D-Day: Live!

WELCOME to the Bucks Free Press’ live coverage of Wycombe District Council’s Cabinet meeting – where councillors will decide the fate of the stadium proposals.

We have three reporters at the council’s High Wycombe offices to bring you live coverage and reaction from the crunch meeting as it happens.

The meeting kicks off at 7pm, with the stadium debate at number five on the agenda list – we expect the discussion to get under way at about 7.30pm.

At long last, a triumph of common sense over corporate greed. Well done and thank-you WDC.

Hopefully now those others who had moved into the area and then campaigned against the airfield activities will now take a step back and consider what might have happened if they had been successful in getting the airfield closed down.

I just hope that we can put all this behind us and get on with enjoying some of the best flying and gliding in southern England.

Fantastic triumph for common sense, but alarming to learn that 6 of the 10 eligible councillors could not vote due to personal or prejudicial interest! Including my local councillor who failed to mention this in our correspondence on this matter, both before the May election and in the run-up to tonight's vote. So much for democracy!

Yep, but I understand that all who were not entitled to vote were excluded because they had previously campaigned AGAINST the stadium. Had they been allowed to vote, it would have been unanimous 10 rather than unanimous 4.

Why are you gutted, WWFC and Wasps still have a perfectly good stadium, it is only 20 years old.You do not need a new one, although you do need a new owner.
