A BUTCHERS in Hazlemere made the final four of the Britain's Best Butchers Shop before being pipped at the post.
Halls of Hazlemere reached the finals of the Meat Management Industry Awards and the judges found it a challenge to choose a winner.
Owners then met with two of the judges Andrew Garvey and Keith Fisher.
They praised the shop for a wide range of added value products, pies, sausages and bacon and said it is based in “a very lively and busy out of town shopping parade.”
They added: “The beef is from Scotland and the lamb and pork is sourced locally. As well as the traditional pies and pasties they also produce dessert pies such as apple and cherry. Fresh bread is also baked on the premises.
“Graham [owner] is a member of the Q Guild and has many certificates on the walls for products which he has entered into the Smithfield Awards over the years.”
Green's of Pangbourne won.
