A NEW pub will be pulling its first pints in Little Chalfont on Monday.

The Pomeroy Inn takes the place of the old Thai Fusion restaurant on White Lion Road and will open its doors on Monday August 1 after an extensive refit.

It is named after a family of local landowners from the 1880s, who owned West Indian fruit plantations which produced pineapples. This is where the pub’s original name, The Pineapple, is believed to have been derived from.

The refurbishment has been led by restaurant and pub company Mitchells and Butlers.

New landlord Andrew Thompson said: “At the Pomeroy Inn we’ll be offering a premium eating-out experience in a traditional pub environment.

“Our aim is to be the perfect country pub, whether customers are popping in for a relaxing pint of real ale, or enjoying a candlelit dinner at a beautifully laid table in our dining area.

“The new-look Pomeroy Inn will be the quintessential country pub in the area, with a more relaxed and refined eating out experience that will set us apart from the normal country pub.

“My message to the people of Little Chalfont, Amersham, Chesham, Chalfont St Giles and nearby is come and celebrate a fantastic new beginning with us.”
