Stones thrown at police car in Castlefield
A POLICE car was pelted with stones in the Castlefield area of High Wycombe last night.
But police said this was one of two incidents to hit the town yesterday evening relating to the unrest which has swept the country, and that there was “very little disorder” overall.
Officers responded to reports of a group of around 20 youths gathering on Rowliff Road, Castlefield.
When they attended, police said stones were thrown at their car but no officers were hurt and no property was damaged. The youths were dispersed by officers.
In a separate incident, an unattended police car parked on Rutland Avenue, High Wycombe, had a brick thrown through its windscreen.
Deputy Chief Constable Francis Habgood said: “Across the whole of the Thames Valley there were only two incidents which we believe were related to the recent disorder.
“There were no arrests for disorder and the two minor incidents that we did experience were very quickly resolved.”
He added: “I would again like to thank the community for working with us over the past few days and urge them to contact police if they do receive any new information about potential disorder or know the identity of anyone involved in recent incidents.”
