Stones thrown at police car in Castlefield

Stones thrown at police car in Castlefield Stones thrown at police car in Castlefield

A POLICE car was pelted with stones in the Castlefield area of High Wycombe last night.

But police said this was one of two incidents to hit the town yesterday evening relating to the unrest which has swept the country, and that there was “very little disorder” overall.

Officers responded to reports of a group of around 20 youths gathering on Rowliff Road, Castlefield.

When they attended, police said stones were thrown at their car but no officers were hurt and no property was damaged. The youths were dispersed by officers.

In a separate incident, an unattended police car parked on Rutland Avenue, High Wycombe, had a brick thrown through its windscreen.

Deputy Chief Constable Francis Habgood said: “Across the whole of the Thames Valley there were only two incidents which we believe were related to the recent disorder.

“There were no arrests for disorder and the two minor incidents that we did experience were very quickly resolved.”

He added: “I would again like to thank the community for working with us over the past few days and urge them to contact police if they do receive any new information about potential disorder or know the identity of anyone involved in recent incidents.”

So a police car was "pelted by stones", but no arrests were made, but no arrests were made last night...... excellent work there then!

Look at these little Castlefield dweebs thinking they're 'gangsters' and trying to start their own little riots. Pathetic!

So there were windows smashed the other day, and now a police car pelted with stones and NOTHING is done by the police other than to disperse the kids doing it.
.
So, when it happens again, and again, and again, and again, and again we will not be surprised.
.
Why do the police do nothing? Are they affraid that something bigger will kick off and so these kids can continue to do as they like?

I rang 999 twice last night due to disturbance in Loudwater Boundary Road. Group of people shouting abuse and then a loud 'Calm down, calm down' from someone. Then I saw hoodies running in my street. Police call centre handled things very badly and upset me when they were almost asking me why I was ringing on my second call. Perhaps I am a bit scared with everything going on!!!

And these miserable little gits might just be adding to its 'dumpiness'.
.
However it could be 'territory marking' like some feral animals do (urinating , dirt smearing , gland-excreting etc) to attempt to define their control of the area. Frightening the residents and other nearby gangs could be the main purpose.
.
The thing might be they 'can't help it' and 'there's nothing to do' allegedly - the sociological minded might say say. That is possible. But I wonder why that could be.

JayJay - I hate to tell you this; but hearing abuse being shouted, and seeing hoodies running down your street, does not warrant calling 999. Especially twice.
There is an 0845 number you can call your local police station on for non-emergency calls.

john_b Thanks for the advice. I am aware of the 0845 and in different times I agree and this is the action I would pursue. The police supported me in dialling 999.

Perhaps they believe that if they ignore the kids then the kids will soon get bored and go away – ‘if you don’t give them a reaction then they’ll soon lose interest’ - I have been told this more thyan once. Also were the police in Castlefield male Constables with power of arrest or were they mainly female PCSO’s with no powers of arrest and no inclination to do anything so scary as confronting yobs?

JayJay - I frequently take 'pleasant' walks through Castlefield at all kinds of times... I am not intimidated by yobs. If I came across a situation that involved an EMERGENCY response, I would dial 999 - in all other cases, yes - I would use the 0845 number.

It sounds as though you are a police officer – do you imagine you would be treated with respect if you were a middle aged male neighbour in casual clothes rather than a police uniform?

People don't start calling kids criminals and trouble makers out of spontaneous hatred - they have been **** off by these kids.

'Wycombe inspector' - why did they throw stones at a police car in the first place if 'they really are great lads '? I don't want you to pick a fight with them but get a BIT more real and realise the effect some of their behaviour has on people's quality of life.

9:51pm Fri 12 Aug 11

im male and no im not a police officer you determined to make these youths feel like nothing and put them down give them no support no help what do you expect?
on tuesdays at teh community centre the youth goes there from 6:30 to 8:30 and they attend there and relax, socialise and play pool, football and the way your saying things your making out if they plan something and do it just to get a buzz out of it i dont agree if the police didnt come to castlefield in the riot vans nothing would have happened. you see a police car in castlefield and i dont see someone throwing a brick at it and smashing windows its when the riot vans and riot officers came thats when everything kicked off because all these police officers came to castlefield in shields and batons in many numbers and invaded the area and the youths and older people were watching on so maybe the many number of police officers in shields and batons who searched only the YOUTHS and no-one else and this may have angered the youths and it kicked of from there.

John b I'm glad u know what an emergency is and when to dial 999.As far as I am concerned public disorder is a crime and according to the literature issued by the police u dial 999 when a crime is or is about to be committed. Perhaps u might like to contact the police on the 0845 to get them to reclassify when people can call 999 and up issue their comms.

I think you are obviously well known to the youth and they consider you a friend. I too live in the castlefield area and would not walk out at night. The reason for this is some yes some of the youths have behaved in a very offensive way towards myself and my children in daylight hours. I have no doubt that they were just trying to intimidate us. Obviously the youths you are talking about are different but don't try to pretend the problem is with the police showing up. The reason the kids don't like the police is because they try and keep them from doing exactly what they want including intimidating local residence.
I am sure some of these youths that cause problems to the neighbourhood are kind and friendly to there friends but they need to learn that they will not ever get respect from the general public until they behave in a more socially acceptable manner, and not behave like pack animals.

I'm sorry, but this article is one man's perspective, and in my experience with the estate is just the most up-to-date excuse!!
This behaviour has been going on for way over 10 years (which is how long I've witnessed it)!!
The behaviour & attitudes on Castlefield will never improve whilst people make nonsense excuses for it, instead of addressing and working solving the problems!!
I am not saying that all the youth on the estate are the same, because some of them are fantastic kids, who would do anything to help anyone, but there is a majority who seem to believe that they should be able to do & say what ever they please without any consequences for their behaviour!!

A/ You had a go at the yellow jackets -forgive me if I got that wrong but as the photo was that of a police yellow jacket and you were answering a derogatory post about said yellow jackets, it was a logical conclusion. Also you are not happy unless you are running down anyone in authority.

b/ You accused Ivor, on one of his blogs, of hiding behind a cloak of anonymity.

Hope that answers all questions

Afraid not - in fact The Yellow Jackets one of my favourite famous musical groups (who always wear yellow jackets) and also the description I gave was a cross connection to Leather Jackets (or Daddy Long Legs) which are actually crane flies which are hatching out this moist warm weather. As you know these insects have long dangely legs and do not need to eat - thus no mouths and exude certain smells.
.
I am unaware of a single police officer of any rank with those characteristics.
.
Loads of working people wear yellow clothing for safety reasons - even I did on occasions . It never occurred to me I would be picked up on such a point.
.
I think you might be reading too much into my random scrawlings - See Lawrence etc and others on here for comparison.
.
As regards my name , don't think it would be a wise move to 'secretly' reveal my identity on here. Suffice it to say that the area I used to work in was cybernetically and legally related.
.
As for The Bigot - he/she/it is not real so the point is not comparable as the identity of a made up person cannot be revealed anymore than Sherlock Holmes's or Mickey Mouse's can. If you wish to believe Bigun is a real person , who am I to dissuade you.

No I do not have facts or figure before you ask me but having lived in Wycombe all my life I know which areas I would walk around on my own in and which areas I would not.
Sorry JBB but half the time I do not know what the heck you are talking about anyway.. Only one person seems to actually and she is more than happy to humour you :)
Thank you for that response , demonees the second.
.
I hope you do not find this patronizing etc but as I advised Bigot when he/she/it mouths off about Desborough etc , if he/she/it would do a bit of research instead of continually flaunting his/her/its predjudices about Wycombe and in particular Desborough , he/she/it would find that Desborough has a low national crime rate - even compared to Marlow and Maidenhead. A summarized accessible form of it is on the internet and is updated every month for what it's worth - but is a worthy and worthwhile attempt by The Police Force to connect with the wider community.
.
Just as a random example Marlow has an approx 50% higher crime rate per capita than Desborough. And that's right across the crime categories - eg Antisocial , Violent , Car Theft.
.
So when Bigot deprecates Desborough it just makes me bridle a bit - I know it's BFP provocation but when he/she/it writes out of ignorance and just feed other peoples prejudices then I react. He/she/it will not look into the recorded information as advised for whatever reason (???). He/she/it says he/she/it does not believe it !
.
There are pockets of socially irresponsible people even in small villages in Bucks and Oxon I know. They , like the poor , are always with us. To say otherwise is absurd and I have never said that. I just dislike the repeated lies and misinformation this Bigot creature continues emit that's all .
.
To what purpose I can only imagine - there must be a commercial aspect to it or something else. It's certainly about not about spreading Truth , Light and Peace.
.
But all that is only my opinion of course.
Rgds
PS I do not live in Desborough or am continually consumed with hate / frustration (well not all the time anyway)

I hardly think that referring to him as a genius could be considered a foul slur. I do wish you would stop putting the wrong interpretation on things. It's very irritating.

Humour? I was beginning to think that word wasn't in your dictionary.
I think the seasonally-correct word might be 'humus' , Morag. At the moment I am being plagued with hundreds of sciarid flies. . They must be hatching out somewhere - or is my garden / house too humus-less also.
I am being plagued by yellowjackets. Not as many as your sciarid flies but annoying nonetheless. I was stung by them rather a lot as a child so I like to give them a wide berth these days. They can't even sing and their humming is not up to much.

J B Blackett says...

Well my Yellowjackets don't sing either , but they do make music - of a kind. I like it but you may not.
.
I watched a black and white version of 'Indian Love Call' on Youtube - but did not get your message as the Mountie rode away (with James Stewart ?!) leaving the singing lady outside the rough log cabin in the deepest of forests. The Mountie kept looking back all the time - there were no wing mirrors on the horse. A bit dangerous really considering all the giant Redwoods about ; and him a sort of policeman too.
.
The cabin had , I noticed , a picture window in it - but not double glazed . It couldn't have bordering on Yellowstone Park , could it ? I only saw that couple of geysers - on horseback - perhaps the horse was called 'Old Faithful' (sorry about that !).

JBB thank you for your reply. This I could understand and this I can empathise with.
But facts are, despite the crime rates, people still would rather not live in Desborough - it is what it is.

As for Ivor - well I have learnt to my cost that it is pointless getting upset and angry - he feeds off it. The more irate you become, the more glib and "nice" his responses are. He does write rubbish - anyone with a nuance of brain cells knows that. BUT equally his blogs attract attention. There is no way the BFP do not know who he is and all this "man of mystery" is to boast circulation figures. In the end, people argue over him.
It really is pointless to pander to the ego of the Ivor creator - which is why I try not to .

I have wondered occasionally from things that JBB posted if JBB was a middle-aged Caribbean woman but I put JB Blackett into 'Dogpile' and learnt that J.B. and yesI agree, bulldoze the place down, turn it into a jungle and let the hooligans that have always been a blight to castlefield clumb up and down trees, I haven't been to Castlefield in years. I can walk in Green street any time I like, but the thought of even going to castlefield makes my blood boil, and its the local idiots, who make it worse for themselves, when they get given something they dont know how to respect it, look after your own neighbourhood, Green Steet does, no one in green street burned anything ...

Bit busy at the mo Lawrence, but will give it a go when I have more time. I find it is worth doing my research properly and reading everything thoroughly if I can. Don't you agree? I don't like jumping to hasty conclusions. Still, we all make mistakes.

Don't know who Roger was. There should be two letter 'o's in the phrase, 'to keen' in the sentence, 'Don't think he was to keen on historical research though.' (Bit sloppy, I thought.) If you wrote out your replies using Word and then spellchecked it you would avoid mistakes like that.
