Work begins to change pub into homes in Studley Green

The former Studley Arms The former Studley Arms

WORK has begun at a pub in Studley Green which is going be changed into two homes.

The Studley Arms in Water End Road is being converted into a five bed and four bed dwelling.

The application for a part demolition and conversion was given permission by Wycombe District Council last July.

The pub stood empty for many years but had a long history.

It was previously known as The Harrow and served as a stop for travellers from London to Oxford in the days of horse travel.

Good luck with starting that today. It was covered in frozen snow this morning, as was the junction to the A40!

So the first job will be to remove the ugly fence that was erected without planning permission, and reinstate the hedge that was removed despite the specific instructions to keep it when the planning approval was given. Don't forget to remove the new entrance that was added either.

Somehow I can already see another stop order coming on...

Oh, didn't you know? Losing services at Wycombe Hospital is going to be better for us apparently.

The new residents of these large dwellings will have fun at school run time when all the parents are parked outside their drives
