A TRADITIONAL woodcraftsman from Holmer Green will be showing off his skills on the Alan Titchmarsh Show today, but it is not the first time he has met the presenter.
Stuart King, 69, from Holmer Green will be demonstrating the turning of a wooden flower in less than 60 seconds using a small lathe on the ITV show today.
He left his home at 5am on Tuesday to head to Waterloo Film Studios in London where the show was filmed.
Mr King, who has appeared on numerous TV shows over the years, said Alan remembered him from a few years ago when they filmed a Paul O'Grady Show together. Alan was filling in for Paul.
Mr King said: ""He did remember me because the programme we did was a bit special as Meatloaf was on it. We were making flowers on that show too. Instead of turning it on the lathe Meatloaf chewed the wood with his teeth."
He added: "Alan is very laid back and friendly. He could be the guy next door."
Mr King, who was born and bred in Holmer Green, said in theory he is retired from his working life in traditional woodcraft but he still enjoys his involvement with wood turning.
Stuart King has a nostalgia evening coming up at the Holmer Green Village centre on February 25 at 7.30pm called Echoes of old Holmer Green, which is based on local history. Tickets are £8, which includes a ploughman's supper and cherry pie. To buy tickets call 01494713350 or from Caramel Square café in New Pond Road. Funds raised will go to the village centre.
The Alan Titchmarsh Show is on weekdays on ITV at 3pm.
