CRICKET club members have been left stumped after being the victims of an unwanted hat-trick of fly tippings.

Rubbish has been dumped at the entrance to Little Kingshill Cricket Club's ground on three occasions over the last month - coincidentally on Tuesdays a fortnight apart.

Garden waste including tree cuttings and chippings and unwanted fence panels have been left tipped at the entrance to the ground in Heath End Road.

Rain may have stopped play at the start of this season but the dumped rubbish has stopped the team's groundsman being able to get in and tend to the wicket.

The first incident happened on Tuesday March 27, with more rubbish being tipped on Tuesday April 10 and 24 - to the bemusement of club chairman Tony Chick.

He said: "Somebody's obviously having a job done every other Tuesday, or they're dumping somewhere else on the other days. I'm baffled by it."

The fly tipping has been taking place during the day but Mr Chick said they club couldn't afford to put up cameras - or employ a night watchman - to help catch the culprit.

He said: "It's so isolated. There's no housing round there within quarter of a mile. Even if we had the money it would be a waste of money putting cameras up.

"We couldn't get into the ground. We have to take our cars in because the drive is quarter of a mile long. We can't get in to prepare the pitch for the start of the season.

"It's very frustrating we've had to put up with this."

All three incidents have been reported to Thames Valley Police, with the most recent tipping being given reference number 316. Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101.
