THREE men who attacked a 20-year-old male with swords and left him in need of 50 stitches have been jailed for GBH.

Ajmal Hussain, 28, Fasail Hussain, 27, and Arshad Younis, 25, all from Spearing Road, High Wycombe, were sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday after the attack in Rutland Avenue last October.

Ajmal Hussain was sentenced to 12 years for GBH, four years for possession of an offensive weapon and a month for breaching a suspended sentence. These sentences will run concurrently.

His brother Fasail was sentenced to 12 years for GBH, four years for possession of an offensive weapon and 18 months for two assaults. These terms will also run concurrently.

Younis was jailed for ten-and-a-half years for GBH.

On October 2, 2011, the Hussain brothers, armed with swords, and Younis arrived outside the shops in Rutland Avenue in a silver car. They left the car and ran towards the victim, a 20-year-old man.

Other people at the scene stopped Fasail Hussain but Ajmal reached the victim, who suffered a large slash wound to his lower abdomen in the following altercation.

Police said the motive for the attack remained unclear.

Det Con Jemma Tamplin, from High Wycombe CID, who led the investigation, said: “This was a horrific attack after which the victim was airlifted to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he needed at least 50 stitches to his injuries.

“The motive for this attack may never be fully known, but we are happy that the offenders have been bought to justice. Hopefully, this will give the victim some closure.

“Fortunately incidents of this nature are rare in High Wycombe but I hope that these sentences act as a deterrent to anyone who carries a knife or is involved in this type of behaviour.”
