HERE are some of the key events taking place around south Bucks this weekend to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Saturday, June 2

Amersham: The town carnival will have a Jubilee theme this year, with a procession of floats setting off from 12pm at the King George V Playing Field in Amersham on the Hill.

There will be performances, market stalls, rides for children, a barbecue, teas and licenced bar at the Amersham Round Table organised event.

Bledlow: THE pageant in Bledlow opens at 3pm with the theme, An Event in the last 60 years. This is followed by fun and games on Church End, a tea party at 4pm with traditional English fayre (£2 per adult/ £5 per family), a scavenger hunt at 5.30pm from Church End to the Village Hall. At 7.30pm there is a barn dance and hog roast in a marquee with live music. £10 per adult (kids free). At 10.45pm there is a grand finale with fireworks. The Bledlow Beacon will be lit on Sunday at 10pm at the top of the bank above The Lions.

Chalfont St Giles : A Victorian Jubilee Fete will be held from June 2 to June 5 at the Chiltern Open Air Museum in Gorelands Lane. There will be themed games and activities throughout, with costumed re-enactors wandering the site throughout.

Chalfont St Giles: A street party will be held on the Village Green, from 12pm to 5pm.

Great Missenden: A ‘Best of British’ Jubilee Concert will be held in St. Peter and St. Paul on Saturday June 2 at 7.30pm when the Great Missenden Jubilee Choir and local soloists will perform Handel’s Zadok the Priest and Hallelujah Chorus and Parry’s I was Glad, in a vocal homage to the British Isles. Come in Union Jack colours and win a prize for the best outfit or hat. Tickets £12.50 (concessions £10) from One Church Street Gallery.

Flackwell Heath: Activities in the Community Centre from 10.30am - 4.30pm including an art exhibition, an orchid show, live jazz and the opening of the Diamond Jubilee Garden at 2pm.

Fulmer: Party in a marquee at King George’s Field in the evening for over 16s. Live music and a fish 'n' chip supper. Go along in 1950s dress. For more information and tickets see: www.fulmervillage.org High Wycombe: There will be high jinx at Wycombe Museum throughout the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.

A host of entertainment and the opportunity to help build a special chair arch in the Priory Avenue museum grounds will be on offer to visitors.

You can also take part in The Big Lunch by taking a picnic or buying food from a Caribbean food stall.

Lacey Green THE Lacey Green Singers Diamond Jubilee Celebration Concert starts at 7pm at St John The Evangelist Church in Lacey Green. There will be music from the coronation of her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, sung by The Lacey Green Singers. Adult prices are £5 and children £3. Light refreshments included. Loudwarer: The Royal British Legion has a Jubilee disco and raffle from 7pm - midnight. Organisers urge you to ‘dress to impress’. Tickets are £5. For details call 01494 528161.

Princes Risborough: Rizfest, a community driven music festival on the Princes Risborough School Sports Field from 12-10pm. There will be two stages with nationally touring bands and headlined by The Jar Family and compered by Mike Bushell. There will be bar facilities, food stalls and side attractions. Parking available onsite for £1. Tickets are £5 for adults and free to under 12s who are accompanied by a paying adult. Available from the Information Centre opposite Marks and Spencer.

Risborough and District Community Association and Princes Risborough and District U3A present Group Captain Greenway OBE with a talk entitled Flying with the Royal Family. From 2-4pm at the Princes Risborough Community Centre in Stratton Road. Doors open at 1.30pm. Everyone welcome. Tickets are £5 to include refreshments from Risborough Information Office of David Shuttle. Profits go to local charities.

Stokenchurch: There is a garden party at the Stokenchurch Methodist Church from 2.30-4.30pm. Bring a plate of food to share (e.g. sandwiches, cake, nibbles etc.) Drinks all provided. All welcome. Residents at Old School Close, a private retirement development, in Stokenchurch starts celebrations at 1pm with a buffet lunch. They will be making resident Mrs Joan Ramsey Queen for the day with a crown, as she has met the Queen and received an MBE.

Sunday, June 3

Amersham: A street party will be held in Old Amersham’s Market Square and Broadway, from 12 - 7pm, featuring music, fun and games for all the community. People are invited to attend in 1950s clothing and enjoy music from the era, craft stalls and prizes and an Amersham Museum display on the 1953 Coronation.

Beaconsfield: St Mary & All Saints Church has a Diamond Jubilee Civic Service at 10am. The preacher will be MP Dominic Grieve, with a reception afterwards.

Chesham: A civic service/ Jubilee service will be held from 10am to 12pm in St Marys Church.

Then from 12.30pm to 4pm the ‘Big Lunch’ street party will be held in the High Street, including magic, games and entertainment for all ages. Eugene Matthias, president of the magic circle will act as MC.

Flackwell Heath: The Royal British Legion has a barbecue and raffle from 12.15 - 2.30pm, with entertainment from Frank Black Jr from 2.30 - 5.30pm.The Stag and Three Horseshoes pubs will also have barbecues, with cricket at Green Dragon Lane Sports Ground from 2pm.

Gerrards Cross: The Bull Hotel hosts a 1950s style party in its gardens from 3pm with lots of live music to raise funds for the Help For Heroes charity. Performances by Gerrards Cross Rock Choir and bands playing songs from each decade, including a medley of West End hits. Tickets range from £18 to £39 and include a meal. Great Missenden: Jubilee Community Family Picnic and Celebration Service will be held on The Buryfield on Sunday June 3 from 11am-3pm. Bring your own picnic and join in the fun.

Hazlemere: The Three Horseshoes in Hazlemere is holding a Queen's Diamond Jubilee Charity Day from 11.30am-late. There will be a charity auction, starting at around 8pm, from Manchester United shirt signed by Macheda, signed Frank Lampard Chelsea shirt, Arsenal shirt signed by the 2012 team and more collectable sport and music items. Money raised will go to the John Radcliffe Hospital's Kamran's Children's Ward.

Hedsor: A picnic with live music and games at Sapper’s Field from 12.30 - 5.30pm. Tickets £5, free for children under 13. On Monday evening a Beacon will be lit at the field.

High Wycombe: A traditional two-course Jubilee Lunch will be held at St Francis Church Hall in Terriers from 1pm.

The dress code for the event is Union Jack-themed red, white and blue. A prize will be handed out to the best dressed adult and child.

It will be followed by games for both adults and children. Tickets cost £6 for adults and a family ticket is £18. There will be a children’s fancy dress theme of Kings and Queens. The parade is at 1.30pm. Bring a picnic, drinks and garden games but no BBQs.

Penn and Tylers Green: A celebration joint church service on the front common in Penn and Tylers Green from 4.30pm. Big lunch on the common with family fun, games and picnic between 12-4pm.

Prestwood: Holy Trinity will be celebrating their Patronal Festival as well as the Jubilee on Trinity Sunday June 3. Special Jubilee Service will take place at 9.30pm and then everyone is invited to gather in the churchyard for drinks at 12noon. Following this, there will be a Loyal Toast at 12.30pm and then bring your own picnic lunch. In the afternoon there will be games, activities and races, including a competition for children to design and make a cardboard boat to be raced across the churchyard, with prizes for the best decorated and quickest boats. Tea and cakes will be served in the Church Hall.

Princes Risborough: On the green at Park Meadow in Princes Risborough celebrations begin at 1pm with competitions, games and a collection in aid of the Amersham Stroke Society, which supports one of their longest standing residents.

Studley Green: Studley Green Community centre is going to host a Bring and Share lunch on Sunday, June 3 at 12pm. They will round off the celebrations with a short, informal service of thanksgiving for the Queen. On Monday, 4 a beacon will be lit at the community centre at 9.30pm.

Wooburn Green: An afternoon of ‘quintessentially English festivities’ from 12 - 4pm, with Ellington Morris Dancers and lots of old fashioned games and stalls, ending with a traditional sing-along. Free entry.

Monday, June 4

Amersham: Jubilee day events will be held on the King George V Playing Field from 11am to 6pm. To start with there will be inflatables, sumo wrestling, balloon modeling, circus skills, and bouncy castle slides. Then from 2pm there will be a concert featuring The Amersham Rock Choir, The Reloaded Blues Band, South Eastern Asian Ladies Dancers and Nord Mannen and historic dancers. The event, organised jointly by Chiltern Youth Projects, Amersham Action Group and Amersham Town Council, will also feature a hog roast; licensed bar; cream teas and market stalls.

Beaconsfield: Celebrations at Oak Lodge Meadow in Windsor End, where Beaconsfield Rugby Club play. The party will start at 7pm, with a beacon being lit and fireworks after 10pm. The event is free, but organisers ask that you register at: http://www.beaconsfielddiamondjubilee.co.uk/ Bledlow Ridge: There is a street party in Chinnor Road, Bledlow Ridge from 2.30-10pm with competition and games.

Bryants Bottom: Residents in Bryants Bottom are celebrating from 12-11pm. The Gate will take part in the activities.

Booker: Residents are holding a hog roast celebration to mark the jubilee. The party gets into full swing from 5.30pm in Claymoor Park.

Chalfont St Peter: A Jubilee Beacon will be lit on Gold Hill Common at 10.30pm Chesham: A concert will be held in Lowndes Park from 6.30pm, featuring performances on stage by local groups.

From 10pm-10.30pm will be the lighting of the beacon and fireworks.

Cressex: John Lewis High Wycombe will be laying on cake, cava and lemonade for shoppers - as well as a fancy dress competition for children. There will also be a crown-themed craft workshop. It will be held between 11am and 3pm on Monday and Tuesday.

Cryers Hill: Jubilee celebration at The White Lion, Cryers Hill, 12pm-late. Two live bands- Fat Boys Toys from 1-5pm and Whipjack from 6-10pm. There will be a beer festival, hog roast, BBQ, fun fair, bouncy castle and various charity stalls. Free entry.

Downley: Bands will perform before a spectacular firework display lights up the sky before the lighting of a beacon on Commonside.

The Wycombe and Great Kingshill Band and group Allergy will perform at the Downley Diamond Night, which kicks off from 7.30pm.

A barbecue will be concluded by the lighting of the beacon and fireworks at 10pm. A street party will also be held from 2pm in Commonside.

Flackwell Heath: A music festival on the Carrington Schools sports field with a 24ft covered stage. Gates open at 4pm, tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door. Programme at: www.flackwellheath.net Hazlemere: From 9am-6pm shops displaying promotional type products along with representatives from community bodies will be celebrating in Park Parade, Hazlemere.

High Wycombe: A beacon will be lighted at Handy Cross by dignitaries at 9.15pm.

Refreshments and a jazz band will also be performing at the Handy Cross cafe ahead of the symbolic beacon lighting - organised by Wycombe District Council.

Holmer Green: There will be a Diamond Jubilee Party on Holmer Green Common between 1-4pm. Bring your own picnic lunch and tea and cakes will be supplied at 4pm. There will be music and dancing, fun and games, a bouncy castle and a children's fancy dress competition (Kings and Queens). There is also a prize for the best adult red, white and blue outfit. It is a free event.

Hughenden: Jubilee Tea Party at Hughenden Manor, from 11am-5pm. celebrate the jubilee at this National Trust property's tea party. Bring your own picnic. Normal admission charges apply. Penn and Tylers Green: There will be five hours of live music on the Penn and Tylers Green common from 5pm. Headline acts include Upside, Dirty Mavis, Alkka Stephenson and Kathryn Oxley. There will also be a bar, BBQ and other refreshments. The official jubilee beacon will be lit at 10.15pm. Entry is free. Earlier in the day at 2.30pm there is a tea dance in the village hall. Princes Risborough: There is going to be a Teddy Bear's Jubilee Party in the High Street in Princes Risborough between 2 and 4pm. Lots of stalls, 40 tables, over 300 chairs, an ice cream van, prizes and goodies for the children when they bring a teddy bear along for the day. Bring your own picnics and drink.

There is a street party in Station Road, Princes Risborough from 3.30-5.30pm. Bring and share afternoon tea.

Princes Risborough Golf Club’s celebrations start from 7.30pm. A two course British buffet and music from Pearly Kings and Queens ‘Cockney Pride.’ Tickets £20 from 01844340989.

Widmer End: There is a big picnic at the Widmer End Recreation Ground and Village Hall from 11am-5pm. There is a village fete with brass band, fancy dress parade and competition, treasure hunt, sideshows, bouncy castle, mobile farm, dance and judo displays, opportunities to test football, cricket, short mat bowls and tennis skills. There will also be a barbecue, cream teas, ice cream, popcorn and candy floss. Although entry will be free, a small charge will be made for activities. Any profit made will go to the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.

Tuesday, June 5

Bourne End: Jubilee picnic in the Recreation Ground off Furlong Road. Fancy dress competition, face painting, jewellery making, traditional games and live music from 12 noon - 4.30pm. If wet, the event will be at the Community Centre.

Chesham: Commonwealth celebration will be held in Lowndes Park today, with food stalld from the Commonwealth, children’s activities and culture events being held from 12pm to 2pm. Then, from 2pm to 4pm there will be a ‘taste of culture’ from the commonwealth with music and dancing.
