A 1,000 mile bike ride from London to Monte Carlo started with unexpected injuries but did not put off a group of students who have raised £20k for Cancer Research.
Dan Isitt from Bryants Bottom was one of nine men from a work placement at IBM in London who took on the challenge.
He said: "The ride was an incredible journey and the biggest achievement of our lives. There was a lot of tension over the first few days as a number of early unexpected injuries in the group made riding over 100 miles a day very difficult.
"The terrain was tougher than we had expected and it was always hot (apart from the last day) which made it all the more challenging."
He thanked Susie Maynard from Chiltern Natural Foods, who donated £600 of organic snacks for the ride and Retrieva tracking who set them up with a live real time tracking device.
So far they have raised more than £20,000 for Cancer Research but there is still time to donate at www.ldn2mc.co.uk
