Cllr: Wild flower meadow spoils memorial garden in Princes Risborough

Cllr: Wild flower meadow spoils memorial garden Cllr: Wild flower meadow spoils memorial garden

A WILD flower meadow which a town councillor said spoils a memorial garden in Princes Risborough is to be kept for a least another year.

The meadow was introduced as part of the Stratton Memorial Garden off Queens Road, Princes Risborough.

Princes Risborough Town Council own the garden but the Risborough Countryside Group maintain the meadow.

At last night's town council meeting cllr Pam Williams said: "I don't think the countryside group have kept to what they said they would do."

She added: "It is a memorial garden and when you go in there that bit spoils it. I can't see how difficult it would be to cut it."

But other councillors believed they have not given it enough time to flourish.

Cllr Will Streule said: : "A wild flower meadow takes a long time to establish. It doesn't just happen in one year."

Councillors agreed 10 to 1 that the countryside group should continue monitoring the wild flower part of the memorial garden for at least another year.

People in Princes Risborough need to think long and hard before electing this woman back in! This has to be one of the most idiotic and short-sighted comment I have ever had the misfortune to hear! Please could someone from an environmental group re-educate this woman!

There are weeds everywhere - and that may include this clueless one on PR council.
.
She may be a political plant , of course. Not to be trusted. But could be trussed.
