Trust finally complete Blues takeover
THE takeover of Wycombe Wanderers has finally been completed with Wycombe Wanderers Trust Ltd replacing Steve Hayes at the helm.
The announcement was made on the club's website yesterday.
Under terms of the deal, the club will retain ownership of Adams Park and the training ground under a new holding company owned by the Trust, Frank Adams Legacy Ltd.
The takeover will also allow the accounts to be filed, therefore lifting the transfer embargo with days.
Speaking on the club's official website, Trust chairman Trevor Stroud said: "The Trust are delighted to take control of Wycombe Wanderers, especially in the club's 125th anniversary year.
"The plan is to work to a break-even model which will secure a sound financial footing for the club.
"I would like to express our appreciation to Steve Hayes for the considerate and constructive approach he has taken throughout the takeover process.
"In addition, we wish to place on record our recognition to the contribution made by Mr Hayes to the club's achievements during his tenure, and to Ivor Beeks and Brian Kane for their significant contribution to the process.
"We acknowledge that in order to achieve our ambitions we need the support of the fans as we enter an exciting new era for the club."
The statement does not say whether Beeks will continue as chairman, or how the Trust plans to finance the club.
Steve Hayes said: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time, firstly as managing director then as owner, and my support for the club will continue to be just as passionate as ever.
"I'm extremely confident that the club are in the best possible hands and wish the Trust every success in control of a club which I hold close to my heart."
The club say further details will be released shortly and have planned a press conference for Monday afternoon.
