Wycombe rap video urges gangs to 'stop the violence' (From Bucks Free Press)

The sad thing for me is that some of these jumped up little boys - because that is what they are, little boys think they are (Not the ones in the video - the ones you see hanging on a street corner intimidating a pensioner) "proper ard" and tough and keep trying to compare their lives to that of people from Peckham or Balham - stick any of these muppets on a proper South East London estate and they will realise they are nothing. Anyone can carry a knife and wear their little bandana on their jeans but they need to remember they are from a market town in Bucks, not London.

They are smoking cigarettes , drinking soft drinks and walking quite slowly.

Yeah but East London has always been poor. But at least the community back then was more closely-knit than it is now, although the english community in tower hamlets, newham and hackney is now VIRTUALLY non-existent. And if you don't believe me, walk down Whitechapel Road or go to West Ham or any part of Hackney to see for yourself. All these areas didn't have gun crime, rape and robbery back then like they do now though....

And as for Liverpool, most white people there are more Irish-blooded than British blooded and that's a fact. Everyone knows Liverpool was a major hub of mass irish immigration.

Liverpool FC's fans have a song which goes "we're not English, we are scouse." (Scouse meaning a mixture of predominately irish and a bit of english, scottish, welsh mixed in).

There is no way even the slightly dodgy areas of Wycombe can be referred to in the same way as places like tottenham / streatham etc. Wycombe has its fair share of idiots to be sure but the way these guys are talking and posturing is just embarrassing. For the most part Wycombe and surrounding is actually a pretty nice area with the obvious exception of certain parts of the town that might as well be in a different country.

The fact is there is no gun crime in White Hart Street so why tarnish that part of Wycombe in a video like this?

What a bunch of softies who didn't even have the guts to film their video in an area affected by the crime which they sing about. Security could have been hired to guarantee the safety of the cast and crew. After filming did they nip around to the local tea shop for a quick bite of strawberry scones and clotted cream?

I can't understand the lyrics because being middle class I don't speak patois, all is hear is noise and all I see is a load of wannabe gangsters swaggering around thinking there hard. And you are still beneath my contempt.

There has been a problem in Wycombe as long as I can remember. I was mugged as a youngster and now several friends children have been mugged. One was mugged on the Rye just a couple of weeks ago in his school uniform for a pound and mobile phone. Another friend of mine was stabbed in the back when he walked to get a pint of milk in Downley and died in the Ambulance several times but they managed to bring him back thank god.

Got to challenge you on that one.Have you ever lived in the east end? Some of the most famous violence was committed there? No violence? The Krays were such lovely chaps eh? But at least they only did it to 'their own' eh?
I lived there for years and the community ws alive and kicking when i left.
My Uncle, over 80, remembers the fights in the town centre between rival factions.
I can remember the fights in the town centre in the 70's between rival factions.
My cousin was assaulted in the 1960's.

Why would I want to live in the East End. It's a statement of multicultural failure. The English community have been ethnically cleansed from Tower Hamlets and Hackney and now exist in pockets here and there. Tower Hamlets is like being in Bangladesh, and non-muslims are frequently attacked around there.

As for the Krays, they were East End born and bred, but they weren't English. They were a mixture of Romany, Irish and Jewish...
