A NEW local history group for Flackwell Heath and Loudwater is holding an open evening tonight from 7.30pm at the Flackwell Heath Community Library. All welcome to go and learn more. Details on 01628 525207.

A GROUP of pre-school children from the Flackwell Heath area are set to take part in Barnardo’s Big Toddle 2012, which claims to be the country’s biggest fundraising event for under 5’s. UPPER Thames Sailing Club in Bourne End hosted the Thames Valley Team Challenge for young sailors recently, with nine sailing clubs competing in 36 ten-minute races in RS Feva dinghies. The winning teams were the Upper Thames Barracudas, Goring Thames Sailing Club and Maidenhead Sailing Club.

ROTARIANS from Bourne End and Cookham have given £300 to young performer Sophie Foote, to help her appear at the Edinburgh Festival with the Youth Musical Theatre. Sophie lives in Cookham and is a member of the Jam Theatre in Marlow.

SCANNAPPEAL fundraising stalwarts, Alan and Elaine Ford, will be holding their annual concert tomorrow at St Paul’s Church, Wooburn Green at 7.30pm. Julie A Scott, winner of ITV’s New Faces, will sing a selection of light opera, pop and musical favourites. Also featuring the award winning Wycombe Orpheus Male Voice Choir. SINGER Frank Black junior will be providing the entertainment at the Flackwell Heath Royal British Legion Club from 8pm on Saturday night.
