Council goes to court to stop traveller site Council goes to court to stop traveller site

A COURT injunction has been taken out by a council in a bid to stop travellers moving on to a Green Belt site in Hyde Heath.

Chiltern District Council has successfully applied for a High Court injunction forbidding development on land in Hyde Heath Road.

It had been advertised as being suitable land for a travellers’ site – but such a development would have been a contravention of planning laws.

The injunction, granted to the council on May 29, is to “prevent any unauthorised development”.

This includes, according to a council report, “the stationing of caravans or mobile homes or to allow the use of land for residential use or for the storage of vehicles or residential paraphernalia”.
