Success for Scannappeal's open garden scheme

THE final garden in Scannappeal’s Jubilee Open Gardens opened for the day in Little Chalfont.
Brenda Johnson raised more than £1,000, making it one of the biggest fundraisers for a small garden in the scheme.
Brenda offered tea, cakes, plants and other items for sale and, as with 19 of the other garden openings, the rain disrupted some of the day.
At Brenda’s request, the funds will be split between Scannappeal's two Cancer Fighting Fund projects - for bowel cancer at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and breast cancer at Wycombe Hospital .
Scannappeal thanked all 25 garden owners for helping to raise funds for the charity over the last few months, and their volunteers for braving the elements helping with parking, refreshments and fundraising at the different events.
