Woman calls in police over suspected vacuum cleaner fraud
AN elderly woman called in police after a vacuum cleaner she hadn’t ordered was dropped off at her house with suspicious delivery instructions.
The 85-year-old accepted delivery of the Dyson from a catalogue company at her Flackwell Heath home at 12.30pm on Saturday.
She called the company to explain she had not ordered the expensive cleaner, despite the fact the package was addressed to her correctly.
She later noticed a note on her front door asking for the delivery to be left at the side of her house and, at that point, she called in police.
A black man, about 5ft 8ins, slim and in his mid twenties was seen in the area around the same time, driving a BMW and acting suspiciously.
