DISCOVER the Chilterns in an organised charity walk which will take participants up three peaks.
The Chilterns Three Peaks Challenge is on September 16 this year and has an option of three routes- five, nine and 18 miles.
All routes start at Princes Risborough and walkers climb Whiteleaf Cross and Coombe Hill before reaching the five mile point at Wendover.
After enjoying a BBQ they can then decide whether to return home or the nine mile walkers are bused to Tring Station to walk to Ivinghoe Beacon or the 18 milers continue on foot.
It is run by Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care.
Fundraising events manager Ruth Barber said: "Nearly 3,000 people have helped us to raise over £200,000 since we launched this event in 2009. That’s enough to fund 10,000 hours of nursing care and has enabled us to give an increasing number of patients with life-limiting illness the choice to be cared for at home.
"As patient numbers keep rising it’s more important than ever that we can make our events a success. We hope to beat last year’s total of 850 walkers raising £60,000 - so please sign up today and make a difference."
Arriva buses provide the official event bus.
Event fundraiser Kerri Coote said: "We are so grateful to Arriva buses for their help with this event as we couldn’t do it without them.
"The drivers say to us how much they love taking part, even though they give their time for free. What they really enjoy is the community spirit and camaraderie between the walkers which never fails to put a smile on their faces."
Entry to the Chilterns Three Peaks cost £15 for adults, £7.50 for children and is free-of-charge for dogs! The fee includes a t-shirt, medal, water on the route and the cost of bus transport.
All fundraising is dependent on sponsorship money so we encourage all walkers to raise as much as possible. Registration is at Princes Risborough School and will be open between 9.30am and 10.30am for anyone walking 18 miles and between 10am and 11am for anyone walking 5 or 9 miles. The car park will open at 9.15am.
