Woman assaulted in Wycombe after intervening in 'altercation'

A WOMAN was assaulted in High Wycombe in the early hours of Sunday after trying to intervene in an ‘altercation’ between a man and another woman.

The 38-year-old woman was walking with friends towards O’Neil’s bar after leaving the Swan car park, when they saw a man and a woman involved in what police describe as an ‘altercation’ at about 12.10am.

The 38-year-old tried to intervene but the man pushed her twice. On the second occasion she fell and hit her head on the ground, causing a laceration. The woman received treatment at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and was later discharged.

The man is described as white, in his twenties, approximately 5ft 10ins, of slim to medium build, with short blond spiked hair. He was wearing jeans and a top.

PC Leigh Thomas, investigating, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information that could help us identify the suspect, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can call PC Thomas via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

lets remember that when this vermin is caught he'll be given at best a light sentence

On the other hand, had it been a homeowener defending their own property assaulting a would be burglar the key would no doubt be thrown away
