A FIRE broke out at a High Wycombe flat last night - leaving a lounge room badly damaged by smoke.

Three crews of firefighters attended the scene in Priory Avenue at about 1am, using one hose reel and breathing apparatus to tackle the flames.

The incident log says it was a fire in the lounge, which was left 20 per cent damaged by fire and 80 per cent damaged by heat and smoke.

No injuries are reported on the log.

At 5.15am the Wycombe crews were also called out to a two-car collision on the M40 northbound, between Handy Cross and Stokenchurch.

They said a man and a woman were released from the vehicles, injured, before they arrived.
