New hospital 'just speculation for now', says Wycombe MP (From Bucks Free Press)

How about this as an idea Steve this is a direct open letter to you – I hope that you are going to read this:

Why don’t you ask your fellow Tory chum "Andrew Lansley" the Secretary of State for Health - who we both personally met and spoke about saving Wycombe Hospital just before you were elected as MP for Wycombe. Yes he was just the Shadow Secretary at the time but he’s now been the actual Secretary for the last two years. There is only one other above him in the food chain and that is your other friend ‘David Cameron’.

Why don't you use your charm/political skills and ask him to save our Wycombe Hospital and return the services back - rather than expanding Stoke, Wexham or building some super new hospital way outside of our town?

You seemed very keen before you were elected to help us but now you seem to be in favour of other options.

I don’t understand why you have changed your mind or why your fellow conservative peers are unable to help us people of Wycombe? Even with Chequers our PM if ever in the terrible need of a hospital would be taken to Wycombe (then again I’m assuming that he would be taken to a private hospital instead..)

You have made a lot of noises and have done a lot of ‘talk’ but you are falling behind on the actual 'doing' changing or ‘trousers’ part.

We need help not hot air.

It’s not going to be long now that they are going to close down the A&E (or whatever they are calling it these days since the downgrade)

This is another reason why people are turned off from politics - as its just hot air and telling us what we want to hear but not meaning anything. You seem to skirt around the edges but know that in all honestly that neither Andrew nor David care if Wycombe keep their hospital or get their services back.. otherwise things would have changed, something would have been reversed.

I understand that you are very good at PR and that you are getting stuck into the banking reforms, etc

But you have been elected to stand as an MP for Wycombe.

Please help us folk in 'Wycombe'?

Please save our hospital from eventual closure and bring back our lost services which have now been redirected to Stoke Mandeville and where they are not coping with the extra strain.
You sat on the fence over the silly stadium business – please step up and help us at least on the hospital side?

The people of Wycombe want a fully functional hospital in Wycombe not the other side of Maidenhead!

When asked for his help over the 'silly stadium business' he said that he only dealt with 'national issues' and not 'local issues', so why should he fight to keep Wycombe hospital after all it is only a local issue, and wont make the national newspapers.

So how is the closure, move or 'transition' of the current A&E going?

Not well - policies have not been followed. The staff at Wycombe have been told there are no jobs and therefore will not be moving to Stoke.

The Stoke nurses don't have to re-apply for their jobs as the Wycombe staff were told everybody would have to apply or re-apply as they are employed by the trust, not directly by any hospital.

The lady employed to see the 'successful' move of the staff has had her position been terminated, reason given - cost, yet costs for that position had been known since day 1.

Staff asked to make their 4 choices in favoured order for their new roles to be redeployed in Wycombe hospital wards other than A&E without sufficient information - 2 new wards being introduced but no job information released yet.

A lot of misinformation being distributed at meetings by different seniors regarding job availbility and processes at Wycombe and Stoke.

1 to 1 consultation meetings only taking place this week when individual options have to be confirmed by this Friday due to HR taking leave the previous 2 weeks.

Wycombe A&E still taking on new staff up until only 2 weeks ago, and the new staff were not told of the closure of the department.

Will travel expenses be issued to staff due to the move of place of work if High Wycombe hospital is explicitly listed in their contract?

It seems there are quite rightly many annoyed nurses at Wycombe A&E - I hope they are seeking appropriate advice from their unions as in my view they way this has been handled is disgusting. So if the trust, local authorities or Government have no interest in providing the best service for the patients in the area, treat the staff involved in the transition just as badly as the residents of Wycombe, who are they in it for?!

This proposal will never happen. Dr Lee should talk with NHS Buckinghamshire, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and County Council.
But it still wont happen despite making some sense.
He can't just sell off part of the Trust without considering what happens to the other parts e.g Stoke Mandeville hospital, Amersham hospital and community services.
I was amazed that Mr Barlow and Mr Price support this idea as only a few weeks ago they were all for saving Wycombe hospital from closure. Now they seem to support the closure and the moving of services to near Maidenhead. What has changed? What new information do they have?
