Three people from Amersham rescued off the Cornish coast

THREE people from the Amersham area were rescued off the coast of Cornwall after their catamaran capsized.

Spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Julia Gosling, said on Sunday evening the alarm was raised after a report of a catamaran capsized off Maenporth Beach in Cornwall with people clinging to the hull.

Falmouth Lifeboats and Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to the scene.

The casualty crew managed to right the vessel as the inshore lifeboat arrived on scene and they were then assisted ashore.
