Pensioner hit by car which drove off
A 78 year-old woman was knocked to the floor by a car which then drove off, police say.
The pensioner, who survived and was not seriously injured, was struck by a passing vehicle in Crown Road, Marlow, on Saturday, officers revealed this morning.
It happened about 9pm.
Police said the car, a black Audi A3 S-line or Quattro, possibly with a 54 plate, drove off from the scene without stopping.
The victim sustained bruising to her elbow and wrist.
During the collision, the glass in the wing-mirror on the passenger’s side of the car was broken.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has seen a black Audi A3 with a broken wing-mirror should contact PC James Fergusson via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101.

What is the significance in the headline for this story that the individual with a sore elbow is a "pensioner"? What does that mean?
Being a pensioner does not imply anything except, perhaps, that the person is over 50ish. It's so vague as to be totally irrelevant.
What you're trying to put across to your avid readers is that the person is not as young as she used to be. But why does that even matter in the context of this story? The fact that someone was struck by a car and that the driver failed to stop is of slight interest - but that's it.
