EVER seen a bath and a giant slipper flung down a steep hill at the same time?
Well, Sunday could be your chance as a whole range of wacky contraptions, driven by daredevil contestants, race for victory in one of the area's most bizarre annual events.
Adrenalin junky villagers will be hurtling downhill towards Uncle Tom's Cabin for the sixth Cookham Gravity Grand Prix.
They will reach up to 30mph.
Peter Bartlett, the founder, is entering a unicycle ridden by an Olympic games maker with wheel-barrows attached.
"It’s a fun-filled family day out for both the competitors and spectators," he said.
"We've managed to raise £50,000 over the years for Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance and we’re hoping to raise over £10,000 again this year.
"How many people can say they’ve had the opportunity to design their own coffin and hurtle down the road to certain death in front of their family and friends? Not many I’m sure."
The comical contest, organised by The Kaffirs of Cookham Dean, begins at 1.30pm at the junction of Church Lane and Spring Lane.
