Key role for Dominic Grieve following Hillsborough files release

BEACONSFIELD MP Dominic Grieve now has a key role to play as dozens of families continue to fight for justice over the Hillsborough disaster.

Newly published documents today revealed how police and emergency services made "strenuous attempts" to deflect the blame for the tragedy onto innocent fans.

Mr Grieve, who is the government’s Attorney General, will now review the report in order to decide whether to apply to the High Court to quash the original, flawed inquest and order a new one.

The disclosures were made by the Hillsborough Independent Panel, which has been overseeing the release of thousands of official documents relating to Britain's deadliest sporting disaster.

Mr Grieve sat solemnly on the front bench as Prime Minister David Cameron offered a "profound" apology to the families of the 96 people who died, telling the House of Commons that today's report made clear that "the Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster".

Mr Cameron also answered several questions from MPs by saying 'that will be a matter for the Attorney General'.

The papers were released following a decision earlier this year by Home Secretary Theresa May, who is also Cookham’s MP.

It is unforgiveable for what happened @ Hillsborough and for how long it's taken for the truth to come out. RIP those that were cruelly taken away from their families on that tragic day due to what looks like incompetence from the Police.

Politicians and their mates (allegedly) were behind this cover up and some rabid gutterpress newspapers like the SUN (owned by a certain infamous Rupert Murdoch and edited the big-mouthed bigot and blusterer Kevin Mackenzie at the time) were jumping up and down with glee.
.
Shame on All of Them. Including the current shower of politicians and lawyers and other creatures of the night.
.
An essential further open public inquiry is needed - with no politicians whatsoever involved at all or anybody previously issuing made up tissues of lies.
.
Kelvin Mackenzie and all his lying associates should be put in the stocks - in Liverpool Civic Square. Proven Despicable Press Vermin - almost beneath beyond contempt , but not a beyond a smack in the face with some rotten eggs , tomatoes and other stuff.

I am glad that Kelvin MacKenzie's apology to the people of Liverpool was rejected. He is a snake and worth only contempt. YNWA.
