Busy road in Amersham blocked as metal hangs from bridge

A BUSY road through Amersham was blocked this morning after a piece of metal got wedged in a rail bridge and hung over the roadway.

According to traffic reports, a lorry struck the bridge over the A416 Station Road, near Amersham station, at about 7.30am.

Firefighters from High Wycombe and London Underground staff were able to remove the piece of metal with the help of a turntable ladder.

^ clearly, it's from the lorry, if it were smashed from the bridge, the bridge and road beneath would be closed, you would have thought..
