THE Beaconsfield Society is hosting two performances of ’The English Years of Robert Frost’ tomorrow at the Fitzwilliams Centre, at 2.30pm and 6pm. THE Alzheimer’s Society is offering a rare chance to walk around Beaconsfield’s Hall Barn Estate on Sunday, September 23 by taking part in a sponsored walk. A SPONSORED dog walk from the Royal Standard of England pub in Forty Green on Sunday raised £725 for South Bucks RSPCA. The ‘Mutt Strut’ attracted nearly 25 dogs and around 30 walkers.

THE Gerrards Cross Community Association annual jumble sale promises to be one of the biggest recycling opportunities in Bucks after record amounts of jumble were collected. The first sale at the Memorial Centre, of toys and hardware, is from 10am - 1pm on Friday, September 28, with the general sale from 10am - 2pm the following day. GERRARDS Cross resident Mark Harrison is set to cycle from Land’s End to John O’Groats in a team of four to raise money for the Lymphoma Association. The 41-year-old, who works for Shell International, became a trustee of the charity after his dad was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia last year. The 874-mile journey normally takes about 12-14 days, but Mark and his friends are aiming to finish in eight days.

JORDANS Flower and Produce Show comes to Jordans Village School on Sunday, with sections for flowers, fruit and vegetables, as well as cooking and photography for all age groups, including special sections for children. For more details pick up a schedule from Jordans Village Stores. Register your entries between 9.30 - 11am. The show opens at 3pm when all are welcome to go along and enjoy tea and cakes. Admission is 50p. Prize giving at 4pm.

PLANS to create a traveller site in Fulmer have been rejected by South Bucks District Council. The authority said the scheme for land at Alderbourne Cottage, off Fulmer Lane, would have an adverse impact on the Green Belt, among other reasons for refusal.

BEACONSFIELD Fire Station is holding a charity car wash tomorrow from 10am - 2pm to help raise much-needed funds for The Fire Fighters Charity. The charity provides assistance to serving and retired fire and rescue service staff, their families and dependants.

ST MARY's Church in Beaconsfield hosts a Eucharist Joint-Service in memory of the victims of the Armenian genocide on Sunday, September 23. The service at 10.30am will be attended by various dignitaries including the Armenian Ambassador, Her Excellency Mrs Karineh Kazinian, with Armenian girls in traditional dress to welcome and usher in the guests.
