CCTV images released after shoplifting incident
POLICE have today released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a shoplifting incident in Prestwood.
At 11.30am on Sunday, September 9, a man entered the Co-op store in the High Street and took five jars of coffee, police said.
When challenged by members of staff, the offender refused to hand over the stolen items and ran off, officers added.
PC Roy Evans from Amersham police station said: “I would like to hear from anyone who knows the man shown on the CCTV image. I believe that this man can help with police enquires to progress the investigation.”
If you can help, call the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 and ask to speak to PC Evans, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or visit crimestoppers-uk.org

I suppose that this is important police work as you have received reliable intelligence of this perpetrator's plans for a PGTips heist in Hughenden?
On a more considerate note, I wonder whether PC Evans had considered the prospect of this chap being ill and needing help before he decided to post his piccy all over Bucks?
Still, if he is next seen on the front wheels of the 0734 Marylebone service, we shall all know who to blame!

They cannot stop advertising wanted persons just because on the off chance they may be ill. Thats down to their defence lawyer to fight if and when they get caught.
Perhaps if he was a young man in a hoody, the "ill" excuse would not have been brought up. Thieves come in all shapes, sizes and ages.

Slate them for not investigating crime then slate them for trying to investigate it.
I suppose if it's ok to nick 5 jars of coffee (which by the way are not cheap these days!) it is ok to then steal say a book as its only a few quid more? And then from there maybe a small electrical item as its only a few quid more than that!? Where does it stop?
A crime is a crime and as stated can have a big effect on smaller stores.
Good on TVP for taking a stance on this!

2 officers died yesterday and you wonder whether Pc Evans had considered the shoplifters feelings?
Perhaps you should consider the feelings of the police before posting your " who to blame" comments.
Im glad to see that the police are doing there job. What happens if you become a victim and there was some CCTV? Ohhhhh better not send it to the press, the man may be ill!
I can't imagine pc Evans posting CCTV for a bit of petty shoplifting. That bloke is probably a regular shoplifter but never been caught so I think if that's the only way to identify him, then too right.
