THE Department for Transport has confirmed the number of overlooked High Speed 2 consultation responses has risen to 1,135.

In July, it was revealed that 413 responses had been left out by analysts Dialogue by Design.

This week Transport Secretary Norman Baker admitted more mistakes had been made and now officials have confirmed that another 722 respondents' answers were omitted.

He said it was technical errors in transferring data, but Chesham and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan has blasted the 'shoddy' handling of the process. She has asked if the Government will re-run the consultation.
