Arrest made after "racially aggravated" comments posted on website
A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence after comments were posted on an internet page connected to the Bucks Free Press Facebook site.
The 41-year-old, from Blackwood in Gwent, was arrested this morning and has been released on police bail.
The comments were posted against a Facebook picture that the Bucks Free Press was tagged in.
Supt Gilbert Houalla, Area Commander for Wycombe, said while no offence was actually committed in High Wycombe, due to the nature of social media the comments were accessible to people in and connected to the area.
He said: “We take all incidents of this nature very seriously and an extremely dim view of those who are involved in such behaviour. “Racism should not and will not be tolerated anywhere in the district.”
He added that the arrest was made after Thames Valley Police worked with police in Gwent.
