Guiding Games attracts thousands

TWO and a half thousand girls and adults gathered yesterday at a Guiding Games event.

Girls from Rainbows, Brownies and Guides went to Stoke Mandeville Stadium to try different types of games, including Paralympic sports.

County commissioner for Bucks, Sue Berry, said the idea of the day was get the girls involved in Paralympic sports.

They tried wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, throwing sports where they sat down and sitting volleyball.

She said: "It was just to get them to understand what it was like and you could do sports with a disability."

They raised £1,400 for WheelPower, which is based in Aylesbury.
