A BOURNE END girl’s X Factor dream ended in tears at the weekend as her band failed to make it through to the next round.

Joanna Ronan, 25, had made it through to the second round of the competition with her band Lightbulb Thieves, though their first audition was not featured on the show.

On Saturday they went head-to-head against a duo called MK1 – with both groups performing Plan B song She Said (see video below).

But the judges sent Lightbulb Thieves home with some harsh words from Nicole Scherzinger after they left the stage.

She said: “I wanted to say, first of all when that guy raps it’s super cool... When you rap it’s completely uncomfortable.

“You over there I don’t even know what your purpose is except for to be off point, and the other chick is not cutting it and she was late in every phrasing.”

There was controversy afterwards as Lightbulb Thieves accused MK1 of ‘messing up their game’ by ‘jumping all over us’ on the stage.

Joanna added: “They stabbed us in the back…simple, yes they did.”

But the victors defended their performance, saying: “That’s what the industry is all about, you’ve got to come up on top.”
