Your Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning events

COFFEE and cake will be the cornerstones of a mammoth fundraising effort across south Bucks, and the rest of the nation, on Friday as people take the chance to indulge in a quick break to support a cancer charity.

The Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events will be held at a number of venues across the county to help raise money to support people affected by cancer. Below is a list of many of the events in and around south Bucks.

Macmillan’s coffee mornings began in 1990 when a local fundraising committee held a traditional coffee morning where people were asked to donate the cost of their coffee and cake. Last year 51,000 people signed up to the event, raising more than £10 million.

The simple idea was taken up nationally with the first World’s Biggest Coffee Morning held in 1991.

The coffee mornings have not always been the traditional coffee, cake and conversation events held in offices and village halls. Several record attempts have been made including the most distant coffee morning (Antarctica, 2002) and the deepest coffee morning (Poldark Mine, Cornwall, 2002).

To be part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning you can host your own event or you can attend a coffee morning at one of the many public events happening in and around Buckinghamshire.
