POLICE have revealed a man who was arrested on suspicion of GBH after a fight in Downley yesterday sustained stab wounds in the altercation.

A 29-year-old man was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital with serious facial injuries after being struck with a ‘heavy object’ at about 1.30pm in Hawksmoor Close on Monday, police said.

A 37-year-old man was taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital after suffering stab wounds in the fight, officers told the BFP today. He was arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Two women, aged 32 and 27, were also arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting GBH.

Det Sgt Deborah Goff, investigating officer, said: “While this incident could have caused concern for residents I would like to reassure residents that we believe this was an isolated incident.

“People have been very helpful in coming forward with information about this incident and we would like to thank them.

“But we would still like to hear from anyone who did see something and has not yet come forward as their information could be vital in this investigation.”
