Child's present stolen from Monks Risborough before birthday

Child's present stolen before birthday
A FOUR-year-old's birthday present was stolen out of a garage before his dad could even give it to him.
Lewis Little had bought a small child's quad bike for his son, Aaron, for his fourth birthday on Monday.
But when he went to check on it in the garage where he stored it in Abbots Way, Monks Riborough he discovered it had been stolen.
He said it was a red and black 50cc Kazuma Meerkat.
Mr Little, from Hicks Farm Rise, High Wycombe, said he had to tell his son, who knew what his present was going to be. He said he is heartbroken.
He added: "I was praying I would get it back before his birthday. I still want to get him one as I promised him.
"I want to make his birthday special."
Police said the quad bike was stolen between 10.30pm on September 23 and 11.20am on September 25.
If anyone has any information regarding this call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Social should investigate this issue, a 4 year old child should not be given a quad bike, whats he getting for christmas? A set of kitchen knives?
The quad bike is advertised as suitable for an age range of 4-7 years. It is designed and made for children, so how is it ‘not a suitable present’?
That aside, someone has had a valuable item stolen from them, which just should not have happened in the first place, and a 4 year old boy is going to be left very disappointed.
I sincerely hope that the bike is returned and Aaron gets his Birthday gift after all.

Also they create a real misery for the neighbours. There are a few quad bike riders in flackwell who are really making life miserable for people around them as the riders do not realise the amount of noise they create.

Under Adult supervision is ok , you obviously never had a exciting child hood
And why does an expensive present make for a more exciting childhood?
What will he be bought for his 5th birthday.. an Iphone?

But my personal thing is that I think a quad bike is a far too big and dangerous toy for a 4 year old. Its not the money aspect, if someone can afford expensive things then do it I just think it is an inappropriate gift for that age.
But at the end of the day it is not my opinion that counts as long as you both are happy. But do make yourself aware of the laws around their usage. I'm sure you know about car insurance, driving licence and requirements like that but be aware that if it is not your own land you may be breaking the law. Also local laws too - if say you want to ride in a local woods, be aware there may be a bylaw against it. And finally be mindful of the noise and irritance of them to neighbours around you. It may seem like fun and it probably is fun, but others having to hear it can be annoyance which may lead to you receiving unwanted police attention.
Finally, if you have household contents insurance then you may find that it covers for theft from a shed on your property. It may not cover a quad bike though, check your policy.

I had pedal bikes, I had footballs, I even got a super nintendo back in the day which provided me with hours of fun.
But I guess my parents did like the thought of me aged 4 riding around on a 50cc quad bike because seeing as most 4 year olds cannot even ride a pedal bike without crashing the danger of a 50cc quad is much higher.
Furthermore, just because I do not agree with your choice of present does not make me a thief, far from it.
I'm sorry for your loss and think its horrible that you have had it stolen but just because I dont conform to your views there is no need to start with insults.

I think you need to be so very careful these days, it's not just your boy that you need to worry about but other people driving like idiots and generally getting in the way of such a small boy on a powerful machine.
Also, if you have lots of your land in Hicks Farm Rise and your boy knew what the present would be - why not just keep it at your property so you could keep an eye of it instead of so far away from your house?

for what its worth I hope the police find it and that you're not left out of pocket, but I agree with everyone who said its an unsuitable present for a four year old (and a highly undesirable one with regards to any neighbours in earshot of it)

I really hope the bike is returned.
And to the poster that said social should be called, well that's just plain ridiculous.
I'm sure the parents will be watching their son like a hawk.
And there is certainly no need for some of you to be so downright rude to Lewis due his choice of present for his son.

Sorry Lewis, we are in times of great austerity - people cannot afford to heat their homes, let alone buy expensive gifts.
It is your money and you are perfectly entitled to spend it how you wish.
But to expect sympathy for spending such a large amount of money on a 4 year old is really asking a little too much from most of us.

This thread really made me laugh!! Some of these comments are ridiculous, So because someone has saved up to buy their child a present they are wrong? And also, how do you know that the quad bike didn't have (or was going to have) a restrictor put on it? Unless you know the facts you really shouldn't judge people. Also the comment about noise, yes I can see how that would be annoying, late at night with Quad bikes riding around, but i think you are forgetting, Aaron is 4 YEARS OLD!! How late do you expect he would be riding it?! We have had quad bikes, motor bikes and petrol go karts since we were young and under the correct supervision, there is no problem! Maybe I shouldn't tell you that we let my 2 year old on the 50cc motorbike with my dad or brother then!!! and my 4 year old daughter is a complete petrol head, if it wasnt for the fact she cant reach the floor to hold it up she would be riding the bike herself! But then I trust my Dad implicitly and know that my kids are safe under his supervision! Lewis I am glad you took my advice on facebook and contacted the BFP :) I hope Aaron's bike is found soon, and that the thieves get what they deserve!
