Gareth Ainsworth to headline charity gig at Adams Park

BECOMING manager of Wycombe Wanderers has hit Gareth Ainsworth's preparations for a charity gig tonight.

He agreed to step up to the mic along with Wycombe band Subrosa5 long before he took the managerial reins, but he's given his word he will perform no matter what.

He said: "I've had a couple of CDs sent to me with the songs on so I can sing them in the car, but being with the band will be different.

"It's the least I've ever rehearsed for a gig and the most I've been coaching - the managerial stuff definitely comes first.

"We'll have a laugh no matter what and hopefully raise some cash."

The event, which gets underway at 7.30pm after today's home match with Torquay United, will raise money for the club's Community Trust's projects in Kenya,  the Willow Foundation, the Pancreatic Cancer Fund and the GKs for GOSH charity, which supports Great Ormond Street Hospital.

A pub quiz and comedy set are also on the bill for the evening.

At least he can't perform any worse than Wanderers have this season
