PINK walkers turned out in force to carry the message about fighting cancer through Marlow.

The event, run by Soroptimists International Thames Valley, finished at Marlow Bridge, where participants were greeted by Marlow Mayor Jocelyn Towns.

Event spokesman Peggy Simson said: "Like most women’s organisations, Thames Valley Club has had its share of members experiencing breast cancer and wanted to do something to help.

"Our motto is 'Women Inspiring Action' so what better than a pink walk to show people we care and want to help."

She thanked the Mayor, the Innerwheel Club and Alison Crook of Marlow FM, who assisted by driving her pink mini, festooned with pink balloons, to raise awareness.

Funds are still coming in, but £225 was raised on the day to support the Breast Cancer Campaign charity For more information see www.breastcancercampaign.org and www.sitv.org.uk
