A MAN was found hanging in woodland near a motorway service station 11 days after being reported missing by his family.

Vana Ganasetti, 26, was discovered by a passer-by in Burtleys Wood near Beaconsfield services on April 16, an inquest heard today.

Nobody had spoken to the Middlesex resident since April 5 - but the inquest into his death at Wycombe Law Courts heard he spoke to three different people on that day and gave conflicting reports as to what he intended.

He was last seen by his employer, a central London post office, shortly after 12.30pm, when he said he did not want to work for them any longer.

Later that evening Mr Ganasetti spoke to a friend on the phone and told her he was planning to go to the USA for a few months.

He then spoke to his brother and told him he would be flying to India, where he was originally from, to meet the rest of his family before starting his own business.

The inquest heard his family assumed he was getting a flight from Heathrow that evening. When he failed to land in India, they reported him missing.

He was then found dead nearly two weeks later but no evidence could be found as to his movements in between, and it was believed unlikely he had been dead for the full 11 days.

Coroner Richard Hulett said: "It seems plain he took himself to the woods with a pre-purchased rope and took his own life."
