A MASKED robber threatened a teenager with a weapon believed to be a handgun.

Police have this afternoon released details of the crime which happened just before 9pm on Monday in Gerrards Cross.

The 19 year-old victim, who was in woods off East Common, was approached by the man wearing a balaclava.

He was told to empty out his pockets but the culprit only stole cigarettes before walking off into the woods. Police said the robber is believed to be an Asian man and he told the victim that he came from Slough.

PC Paul Bridgeworth, from Gerrards Cross CID, said: “I believe that the offender walked from East Common into Mill Lane while wearing the balaclava at around 8.45pm and I am sure that someone would have seen him.”

Anyone with any information about this incident should contact PC Bridgewater via 101. If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
