Community news: New cafe opens
COSTA Coffee is facing competition in Flackwell Heath after a new independent cafe opened its doors. Cosy cafe opened in a unit next to Sainsbury’s last week, on the site of the old Green Man pub. Owner Grant Foster, said: "Our coffee is amazing....We think it’s better than the national chains. [And] we have a license for hot food, we do baked potatoes and ice-cream, so we’re very different from them."
HEDSOR Social Club has modern jive/rock and roll dance classes this Tuesday from 8pm. They teach the two different styles on alternate weeks. You can come alone or with a partner, a friendly atmosphere is assured. Admission is £5.
THE Royal British Legion in Loudwater is holding a beginners salsa class this Sunday. The lesson is for all levels and doors open 7pm to 11pm, with last entry at 10.30pm.
THE Visual Arts Exhibition at the Wooburn Festival is open today from 10am - 6pm and tomorrow from 10am - 4pm, in St Paul's Church Hall, Wooburn. This is an annual exhibition of paintings, sculpture, ceramics and jewellery, showcasing some of the finest arts and crafts in the area.
NEARLY 300 people squeezed into a Flackwell Heath church for Carrington Infant School’s Harvest Festival. The school donated their harvest gifts to One Can Trust, a High Wycombe-based emergency food bank, and delivered more than 90 parcels to pensioners in Flackwell Heath.
WYCOMBE Heights Golf Centre is giving young golfers the chance to emulate their Ryder Cup heroes later this month when it stages a special version of the match.
