Two girls injured in car collision in Wooburn Green

TWO girls were injured after a car collided with them in Wooburn Green on Saturday.

Police are calling for any witnesses to the incident, which happened shortly after 8pm.

A silver Volkswagen Golf was travelling along Watery Lane when the driver lost control on a right hand bend and collided with two girls, aged 16 and 17, leaving them with minor injuries.

The four occupants of the car left the vehicle and left in the direction of the A40 and the roundabout at junction 3 of the M40.

An 18-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a collision and driving with excess alcohol.

He has been released on bail to return to High Wycombe police station on December 2.

PC Mark Ashby, from Amersham Roads Policing, who is investigating the incident, said: “Although we have made an arrest we still need to speak to witnesses and identify those that were in the car at the time.”

Anyone with any information about this incident should contact PC Ashby via 101.

If you don't want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
