Another 'stranger' warning issued by Wye Valley School

ANOTHER south Bucks school has issued an alert to parents after one of its pupils was approached by a stranger.

Wye Valley School in Bourne End sent the warning out yesterday, following an incident in Cores End Road.

Headteacher Jonathan Oliver said a female pupil was approached by a man who asked whether he could carry her bag for her.

The man then tried unsuccessfully to snatch the bag from the girl, who went home and told her parents, who then contacted the New Road school.

Mr Oliver did not have details of when the incident happened, but thought it was earlier on this week.

Separate warnings were issued by the police on Tuesday after reports of ‘suspicious incidents’ in Flackwell Heath and Hughenden Valley, though officers said the two were not thought to be linked (see related links).

And last month there were warnings issued following incidents in Garvin Avenue, Beaconsfield and outside Manor Farm Community Infant School in Hazlemere, which both involved drivers speaking to children, the Bucks Free Press understands.

Worried Manor Farm mum Tara Salter, 38, said a number of parents have stopped their children walking to school at the moment.

She said: "It’s a bit frightening and I’m concerned that some parents may not be aware of it."
