Police: 'Stranger danger' near Bucks schools 'not suspicious'
POLICE have reassured parents and teachers that reports of strangers approaching children near south Bucks schools have been investigated and are not being treated as suspicious.
Chief Inspector Colin Seaton, Wycombe’s Deputy Area Commander, said officers had taken the reports extremely seriously and had investigated each case thoroughly.
But he said police were no longer treating the incidents near Wye Valley and Juniper Hill schools, and a further report in Valley Road in the Hughenden Valley as suspicious.
Ch Insp Seaton said: “I would like to reassure the community that we take reports of this nature extremely seriously which is why we informed you as soon as we did.
“However, we have now thoroughly investigated each report and can confirm that these incidents are not linked and not believed to be suspicious.
“We would like to use this opportunity to continue to remind parents and guardians how important it is to remind children of the dangers associated with talking to strangers.”
Police said if any parent has any concerns they can contact their neighbourhood policing teams via the 101 enquiry line.
