BRAVE teddy bears took the plunge last Saturday at an annual fete organised by All Saints' Parish Church in High Wycombe.
The cuddly toys were strapped to a harness at the top of the 108ft high church tower in Castle Street before abseiling their way back down to the ground.
Each bear who took part in the leap of faith also received a certificate to mark their bravery.
More than £3,000 was raised at the event and all the money will now go to the church fund.
Other highlights on the day included the fete being officially opened by skater and Olympic gold medal winner Robin Cousins.
Mr Cousins also generously donated his own teddy bear to the church which is now going to be sold off.
If you would like to win the teddy called "Robina", then send a sealed bid to the church office or church coffee shop in Castle Street before July 21. Please include the amount you wish to bid along with your name, age and telephone number.

I’ve decided to embark on a new career. For years I’ve depended on the goodness of someone else paying me a salary for my journalistic wares. It hasn’t earned me a fortune, but at least it’s kept a roof over my head with enough left to feed the cat.
