Industry giants Pinewood Studios, GE healthcare, BBC, John Lewis and GlaxoSmithKline succeeded in inspiring the next generation at the first ever Bucks Skills show.

Saturday, July 2 saw the launch of Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership’s new showcase event, designed to help the youth of Bucks decide what career they want to pursue.

More than 400 young people attended the event in Bucks to watch interactive presentations from famous companies including superstore titan John Lewis, well known pharmaceutical companies, the BBC and even representatives from Pinewood Studios - the studio behind filmed James Bond and Star Wars.

Jackie Campbell, Skills Development Manager at BTVLEP, said “It was wonderful to see businesses and educators getting interactive and engaging with the workforce of tomorrow.”

Student Erren Cardoza said: “I hadn’t realised it would be so much fun, or that there are so many opportunities out there - my head is literally buzzing.”
