MOBILE phone mast update: thank you to Harvey Lion for contacting me. He is co-ordinating the campaign against siting a mast on the south east corner of the Downley Donkey pub grounds, on the grassed area next to the car park, near the boundary of "The Elms" property. Harvey and his family moved into their new home in Plomer Hill on February 4 and received a letter about the proposal the next day!

I understand that no planning application had been submitted by Marconi APT when the item was discussed at length at the last parish council meeting, which was attended by 15 concerned residents. Wycombe District Council will send letters to neighbouring properties and post an official notice at the proposed site if a planning application is sought, inviting comments from residents.

Meanwhile, there is a petition to be signed at Starlight Stores while Harvey and his neighbours are investigating means of opposing the mast. All concerned are aware that residents will need to write individual letters of opposition should a planning application be lodged - no matter how many signatures a petition has, it only counts as one submission in these cases - so please look out for information and be prepared to write promptly. If you can offer help or ideas on how best to proceed, please contact me and I will pass your details on.
