A MAN has been arrested following an alleged sexual assault on a 14-year-old girl at a High Wycombe fireworks display.

At about 6.40pm on Saturday the girl was with her family at the fireworks display at Four Ashes Field, Kingshill Road in Terriers.

Police said she was stood in front of the bonfire, next to orange safety netting, when an Asian man touched her on the bottom several times.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and released on bail.

Investigating officer PC Mike Ellyard said: "I would like to speak to anyone who was at the fireworks display who saw this incident take place, as well as a man who was present when the suspect was detained.

"In addition, I would also like to speak to two white men who were picked up by a blue Mercedes E220 taxi from Chesham Broadway and taken to the fireworks display and may have requested the driver pick them up an hour later."

If you can help, call PC Ellyard on 101.
